The Institute of Robotics for Dependency collaborates with the Diputació de Barcelona (Barcelona Provincial Council) in NEXES, an innovative program that aims to detect and accompany elderly people in a situation of unwanted loneliness, promoting their well-being and links with the community.
Our contribution: the technological engine of NEXES
As a technology center committed to positive social impact, from the Institute of Robotics we developed the technological engine that makes the operation of the platform possible personalized NEXES and the County Council. This tool allows participating local councils to manage the data of the beneficiaries, monitor them and efficiently coordinate the actions foreseen in the personalised support plans.
The platform facilitates the work of municipal teams and community agents, offering a clear structure that is articulated in three phases:
- Diagnosis and individual assessment
- Design and execution of the support plan
- Evaluation of results and impact
Each process lasts approximately eleven to twelve months, during which time work is carried out to strengthen the relationship and participation networks of the elderly.
Technology at the service of people
This collaboration exemplifies how technology can be a strategic ally in the fight against unwanted loneliness, favoring early detection, personalized intervention and community coordination. At the Institute of Robotics for Dependency, we reaffirm our commitment to transformative projects that combine technological innovation and social responsibility.
