Improvement of autonomy and care for people who need long-term support in rural areas
The project contemplates the deployment of Newton One in Olivella, a cloud computing platform that allows the coordination of a network of proximity supports around a dependent person, who lives alone, in order to adapt the necessary supports at each moment of the care cycle. life, depending on the evolution of the eight dimensions of quality of life and the type of support, frequency and intensity that they require.
This has been possible thanks to the participation and financing of Obra Social de la Caixa, which has facilitated the realization of the project.

Objective of the project
The project responds to one of the great challenges of our society: the aging of the population, which together with the increase in people with mental illness, chronic conditions and the need for deinstitutionalization, makes it urgent and necessary to rethink social care models. In the rural environment, where we identify some common problems, such as the depopulation of the territory, lack of public resources and a more pronounced aging of the population, this tool takes on even more value and becomes more necessary.
