The Robotics Institute for Dependency participates in the \u2018Networking Session: Germany meets Catalonia\u2019 to promote innovation in longevity and care for the elderly<\/b><\/h2>\n

On Thursday 15 May 2025, the <\/span>Robotics Institute for Dependency<\/b> (IRD) took part in an international networking day organised by the <\/span>WeMind Cluster<\/b>, a centre for innovation and development of autonomy in mental health, ageing and neurosciences. This was in collaboration with the German entity <\/span>HealthCapital Berlin-Brandenburg<\/b><\/a> and the geriatric centre <\/span>Residencial Palau<\/b>, the host of the event.<\/span><\/p>\n

The session took place at the facilities of Residencial Palau, in Palau-solit\u00e0 i Plegamans (Barcelona, Spain), and brought together a broad representation of the innovation ecosystem in health and care for the elderly, both from <\/span>Catalonia <\/b>and <\/span>Germany<\/b>. The event explored new opportunities for international collaboration on key issues such as <\/span>longevity<\/b>, <\/span>technological innovation<\/b> and <\/span>person-centred care<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

A space for collaboration and innovation<\/b><\/h3>\n

The German delegation was made up of diverse profiles, including <\/span>hospitals<\/b>, <\/span>universities<\/b>, <\/span>healthcare digitisation cooperatives<\/b> and t<\/span>echnology companies specialising in diagnostics<\/b>, <\/span>remote monitoring<\/b> and <\/span>artificial intelligence applied to elderly care<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the Catalan side, other organisations from the healthcare and technology sectors took part, all of them with ambitions for international growth, including the IRD.<\/span><\/p>\n

Presentation of Laundry ID<\/b><\/h3>\n

During the event, the Institute and also the product <\/span>Laundry ID<\/b><\/a>, <\/span>an automated and inclusive laundry management<\/b> solution for care homes, were presented. This technology responds to a real need in care settings, improving operational efficiency while ensuring a more dignified and safe experience for residents.<\/span><\/p>\n

Looking to the future<\/b><\/h3>\n

Networking sessions like this one reinforce the importance of creating <\/span>international bridges<\/b> of innovation<\/b>, where the exchange of knowledge and experiences can be translated into concrete solutions for the challenges we share in the field of elderly care.<\/span><\/p>\n
