All tests should be conducted under the strictest criteria of quality, security and safety for the end users, according to the guidelines stipulated by the professionals and with the express consent of families and with the prior approval of the experts from the Ethics Committee. The IRD has created the figure of a Scientific Committee comprised of key representatives of institutions and families. Its mission is to assess the sector\u2019s needs and decide which developments should be prioritized are and how to address them according to certain variables as cost, ease, impact and others. The projects originate, on the one hand, from the new possibilities that constantly offers us the technology developments and on the other, from the guidelines set by the Strategic Council on specific requests from users, families, professionals and institutions and from collaborations with partners such as universities and companies requesting our participation. New projects are presented to the IRD\u2019s Strategic Council every three months. The projects are aimed at obtaining a final product, useful and convenient to its beneficiary, at a reasonable cost and always complying with legal regulations.<\/p>\n

The Institute of Robotics for Dependency has inherited from the Ave Mar\u00eda Foundation the history of innovations developed by it, with the aim of being able to update and improve those successful projects and to be able to make new initiatives a reality with an international scope of action and in a more efficient and specialized.<\/p>\n
The history of innovations developed by the Ave Mar\u00eda Foundation in the areas of care and labor inclusion, its desire to delve in this direction, specializing, the desire to be more effective and increase impact, led us to found, in January 2015, the Institute of Robotics for Dependency (IRD).<\/p>\n

The IRD has signed agreements with the main entities to collect all those needs that have not yet been resolved and for which technology could provide a solution. To this end, workshops have been organized in which work is done with different actors (dependent persons, families, professionals and entities), in which needs are raised and ideas are developed. These are subsequently evaluated by the Scientific Committee and prioritized according to their cost of development, the ease of development, the impact for their beneficiaries or the cost for the end user.<\/p>\n
