Customizable Intelligent Care Support System

The NeverAlone platform is a telecare solution, which facilitates the coordination between the different providers of home care services for dependent people, empowering the user, offering personalized support, in a stable, safe, simple, facilitating and adapted environment with the use and support of new technologies, a series of home-based devices allowing to collect users information and establishing a two-way communication between them and service providers.

This project responds to the increase of people with disability living at home, due to the increase on longevity or the desire to extend the stay in the own home before going to a residential care setting; to the need to offer more real time support to these users for activities of daily living, using new technologies; to the necessary increase in efficiency, coordinating all service providers, governmental, guardianship or other public or private support; to the empowerment of the user in the evaluation of the services he receives, requiring his participation confirming the performance of relevant events of the day, establishing bidirectional communication and registration systems; to the incorporation of risks arising from the environment, lack of adaptation of housing, isolation, rural area, risk of fire, theft, health, etc.; and finally, to the incorporation of new technologies at home for people with disabilities.

OBJECTIVES

Improve the coordination between the different service providers around the dependent person, empower the user, offer personalized support, depending on his capacities for the ADL (activities of daily living).

BENEFICIARIES

All dependent persons receiving home support and all entities providing these services, such as guardians, home care professionals or public social services.

RESULTS

Ensure or facilitate the execution of activities of daily living, increasing personal autonomy, extend the stay in the home, reduce care costs, increase the quality of services and ultimately the quality of life of the user, improving coordination between service provider entities.
