CONFERENCES AND WORKSHOPS
The R&D team has taken part in various national and international congresses and conferences in the robotics and healthcare industry.

Jornada de Investigadores Predoctorales Interdisciplinaria (JIPI)-2017
Our researcher Jainendra Shukla presented a flash talk titled “Employing Socially Assistive Robotics to Empower Cognitive Stimulation” at Jornada d’Investigadors Predoctorals Interdisciplinària (JIPI) [Interdisciplinary Meeting of Predoctoral Researchers conference], which was held on February 9th, at the UB historical building paranimf in Barcelona. IRD explained its ongoing project REHABIBOTICS and discussed the exploration opportunities of Socially Assistive Robotics to achieve effective and efficient cognitive stimulation. We received numerous positive feedbacks and appreciations from the gathered audience.
International Conference on Social Robotics (ICSR)-2016
Our article, MuDERI: Multimodal Database for Emotion Recognition among Intellectually Disabled Individuals, was earlier accepted for publication and oral presentation at the Eight International Conference on Social Robotics (ICSR-2016). Our researcher, Jainendra Shukla delivered an oral presentation of the article at the conference which was held in Kansas City, USA on November 2016.
euRobotics Brokerage Day 2015
Our Research Manager, Joan Oliver, is invited to euRobotics Brokerage Day 2015 in Brussels Expo, whose main objective is to bring together stakeholders in the field of robotics for ideas and collaborations.
V Congreso Nacional CENTAC
Our Vice President, Mr. Antonio Reverter, participates in the V CENTAC accessibility Technology Congress organized by the Centro Nacional de Tecnologías de la Accesibilidad, presenting “Social and support robots for organizations providing care for dependents”.
Primer Encuentro “Soluciones Contagiosas”
The IRD was invited in 2015 to the First Encounter “Contagious Solutions” organized by Plena Inclusión Madrid, a forum in which we talked about innovation, employment and people with disabilities.
International Conference on Social Robotics (ICSR)
In October 2015 it was held in Paris, the International Conference on Social Robotics (ICSR). Our colleague Jainendra Shukla, researcher at the Institute, has attended the conference to present the study carried out by the IRD.

Health TG – euRobotics
In February 2016 Joan Oliver is invited by the Working Group on Health (Health TG) of the European Association of robotics euRobotics in a workshop to define priorities in health R&D in Europe that will be included in the Europe’s H2020 framework program for the years 2018-2020.
