INNOVATION

Improving dependent people lives through robotics

The Institute of Robotics for Dependency (Instituto de Robótica para la Dependencia or IRD) has inherited from the Ave Maria Foundation its history of innovations, with the aim to update and improve those successful projects and make new initiatives a reality with international scope and in a more effective and specialized way.

The history of innovations developed by the Ave Maria Foundation in care and labor inclusion areas, their willingness to delve into this direction, specializing, the desire to be more effective and increase the impact, led us to found, in January 2015, the Institute of Robotics for Dependency.

The Institute of Robotics for Dependency has signed agreements with major entities to collect all the needs that still have not been resolved and for which the technology could lead to a solution. Through the workshops organized with different actors (dependent individuals, their families, care professionals and organizations), we collect needs and develop ideas. These are then evaluated by the Strategic Council and prioritized according to their development cost, ease of development, the impact on beneficiaries or the cost to the end user.
